Eduard Făgărășeanu

Eduard is a member of the Bucharest Bar Association since 1999 and a certified insolvency practitioner since 2008, handling out-of-court pre-insolvency procedures, as well as bankruptcy procedures. He is focused on implementing preventive restructuring frameworks for the companies, according to the new EU legislation. His expertise covers more than 26 years of complex civil, commercial, fiscal and administrative litigation and bankruptcy procedures. He has a significant portfolio of commercial projects, advising major international and local companies, focused on energy, real estate, construction and environment.

Eduard was involved, either as a lawyer or as an insolvency practitioner, in major restructuring/reorganization projects: Hidroelectrica, Europharm Group, Dinamo 1948 SA, Quality Crops Agro, Romaero, Electrocentrale Constanța, and Liberty Steel (formerly Sidex Galați).

For more than a decade, Eduard advised Hidroelectrica and the Romanian Ministry of Economy on strategic energy projects with an estimated aggregate value of approximately EUR 2 billion. He was also part of the advisory team involved in Hidroelectrica’s landmark restructuring process, widely recognized as one of the most successful corporate turnaround and restructuring cases in Romania.
